Anti-crime activist John Walsh is well-known as the host of the long-running, crime-fighting show, “America’s Most Wanted.” The parent of a missing child, Walsh was the leading lobbying force behind the passage of the Missing Children’s Act, which resulted in the founding of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Walsh has been widely recognized for his tireless crusade to protect and save children. Three presidents have honored him for his efforts and in 1990 he was named FBI Man of the Year. Since 2014, he has hosted “The Hunt with John Walsh,” a documentary style non-fiction program that chronicles ongoing criminal investigations with an international focus. In this lecture, Walsh will recount how he became an advocate for children and how he turned the pain of his son’s murder into a lifelong mission to help others.
